Academic Integrity Policy

PASS exists to help students learn. Tutors and students who use PASS agree to keep every session on the right side of academic integrity. This policy is binding on all users and is enforced through account suspension and refund reversal.
1. What PASS tutoring is
- Explaining concepts, working through worked examples, and reviewing practice problems.
- Walking through a student's own draft, code, or solution and giving feedback.
- Preparing for an exam by quizzing the student on prior material.
- Helping a student understand feedback they received on graded work.
2. What PASS tutoring is never
- Taking, sitting, or logging in for an exam, quiz, proctored assessment, or placement test on behalf of a student.
- Writing, ghost-writing, or substantially completing a graded assignment, lab, essay, or take-home exam.
- Selling, sharing, or sourcing answer keys, leaked exams, or paywalled solution manuals.
- Helping circumvent a course's collaboration, AI-use, or open-book policy.
- Communicating with a student during a live exam or proctored session.
3. Tutor obligations
By being approved as a PASS tutor you attest, on every booking, that:
- You will follow your own school's honor code and the requesting student's course policies.
- You will refuse — and report — any request that would constitute cheating, including subtle requests phrased as "just check my answers" on an active exam.
- You will not retain or redistribute course materials, assignments, or solutions a student shares with you.
4. Student obligations
- You will only request help that your course's syllabus and honor code permit.
- You will not ask a tutor to complete graded work for you, sit an exam for you, or join a live assessment.
- You understand that your tutor is required to decline and report any request that crosses the line.
5. AI tools
Many courses now have explicit AI-use policies. Tutors must follow whatever the student's course allows: if AI assistance is prohibited for an assignment, the tutor will not use AI to generate the student's work, and will not coach the student in disguising AI-generated work. If a course allows AI with disclosure, the tutor will help the student use it responsibly and cite it correctly.
6. Reporting and enforcement
- Report concerns to support@passtutoring.com. Reports may be anonymous.
- Confirmed violations result in immediate suspension, refund of the affected session(s), and a permanent ban for repeat or severe cases.
- Where a school requests information about confirmed misconduct on PASS, we cooperate to the extent required by law.
